“Double Feature Mystery"
For
the Spooky Season, the Playmakers offer up TWO original
whodunits—
“The
Paper Detectives”
and “The
Last of Lydia.”
In “The Paper Detectives”,
A dinner party at the posh of a wealthy book publisher sparks a
high-stakes wager between two popular mystery authors and a no-nonsense
police Captain--can these "paper detectives" solve five real-life cases
before a late summer storm passes? As the thunder roars, the Captain
presents one case after another and the writers wield their powers of
deduction to win the bet. But in the shadows of the opulent home,
there's another mystery lurking--with murderous overtones!
In
“The
Last of Lydia,”
mild mannered financial officer Lydia Land is missing, vanished without
a trace! Her terrified co-workers at the accounting firm of Nodder and
Fish are frantic with fear. They suspect EVERYONE, including a
seemingly-innocent delivery person, and even each other! With FOUR
possible endings to choose from, this fast paced whodunit will keep you
guessing! Who kidnapped Lydia Lang--and WHY?
Plus!
A special "Short Subject". Join the casts for a live staged reading of
"The Demon Dog of Valle Crusis" based on the North Carolina legend.

The
Gift of the Magi
One
of our two holiday offerings, this adaptation of the popular O. Henry
story is set in New York in the early 1960s. Jim and Della Young are
giddy newlyweds, poor as paupers but rich with love for each other.
For their first Christmas as husband and wife, they are both seeking
special gifts. But with little money, Jim and Della must make great
personal sacrifices in the name of their love. The
Gift of the Magi is
a combined production of the NoneSuch Playmakers and the teen actors
of the Always Deweys Theatre Company. December 5 and 6 at 7:00pm;
December 7 at 2:00pm.

Celtic Christmas Ceilidh!
Nollaig
Chridheil! Take a theatrical journey with the NoneSuch Playmakers to
the British Isles for a joyous evening of spirited songs, dances and
stories for the holiday season. We’ll make stops in Ireland,
Scotland, Wales and Jolly Olde England. Experience an Old World
Christmas with the Playmakers! December 12 and 13 at 7:00pm;
December 14 at 2:00pm.
